British Eventing are pleased to announce an evening demonstration by CCI4* event rider Ruth Edge at the 2016 Baileys Jumping & Style (JAS) and Jump Training Championships, tickets cost just £10, with free entry for competition finalists.
Hosted on Saturday 20th February at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, Ruth will demonstrate how she trains her horses for dressage and will highlight common issues experienced by event riders and how to work for higher marks. The BE Accredited Coach and winner of the Luhmuhlen CCI4* event will also give the audience an insight into her training techniques for the jumping phases and show how correct basic schooling benefits the horse throughout.
Following two months of qualifying events, Saturday’s Baileys Jump Training Championship will see each level (BE80, BE 90 and BE100) receive a guided course walk at the beginning of the day, warm up guidance from an accredited coach, and a jumping test. After the first round of jumping, competitors will have discussion time with the coach before jumping again.
The balance, rhythm, paces, rider position and accuracy are all judged and scores added to any time and jumping penalties to give an overall score and decide the final placings. Entries to Jump Training qualifiers are still open, visit http://ift.tt/1RR0mFO for full details.
Sunday 21st February will see the JAS finalists take to the arena for the conclusion of the Jumping & Style series. Held at BE90, BE100, Novice and Open heights, combinations jump a show jumping round followed immediately by a timed cross country section with horses and riders judged on style as well as technique. The technical score, this year being judged by Olympic team silver medallist Jeanette Brakewell, is added to any jumping and time penalties and the competitor with the lowest combined score takes the win.

The evening demonstration will immediately follow the Jump Training Championship prize giving at approximately 7.30pm on Saturday 20th February 2016. To purchase advance tickets visit the BE website HERE. Free entry is provided to the finalists plus three of their guests.
